Hilkka Peltoniemi

Peltoniemi, Hilkka H, M.D., Ph.D. is a specialist in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and in General surgery. She has a background in reconstructive and microsurgery and has been a pioneer in research on fat grafting in Finland since 2010, with special interest in technical developments and role of stem cells in fat grafting. Also, surgery of the breast, water-assisted liposuction and body contouring have been her passion for decades. She developed a HELP modification of abdominoplasty to help patients with severe diastasis w/o midline hernia. Her thesis in 2000 on resorbable miniplates and screws has been important in the development on resorbable miniosteosynthesis devices for craniofacial surgery.
