Tine Engberg Damsgaard

Tine Engberg Damsgaard MD, PhD, MRBS, professor, consultant plastic surgeon, Department of Plastic Surgery, Odense University Hospital and University Hospital of Southern Denmark and Institute of Regional Health Reserach, University of Southern Denmark. Upon finishing specialist training in Plastic Surgery, she served as a consultant plastic surgeon, and associate professor and subsequently as professor at Aarhus University and Aarhus University until 2019 and subsequently as professor at the University of Copenhagen until 2023. In 2017 she completed the European Master´s Degree in Surgical Oncology, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Breast Surgery at the Reconstructive Microsurgery European School. Recently in 2021 she completed the Barcelona Lymphedema Research and Clinical Fellowship.

Her clinical profession as well as main research area is centered on the multidisciplinary aspect of breast reconstruction, focusing on applying the optimal breast reconstructive procedure being it implant-based or autologous. In addition, her research also includes studies on Late-Effects after breast cancer-treatment, studying how these may be mitigated or prevented.

She is a member of the Board and the Surgical Committee of the Danish Breast Cancer Group, vice-chairman of the Danish Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as the Danish Microsurgical Society. In addition she is part of the steering committee of the Danish Breast Cancer Group´s Clinic for Treatment of Late-Effects.

Vascular anomalies and gynecological reconstruction are also part of her research and clinical portfolio. Tine Engberg Damsgaard is a member of the Editorial Board of Plastic and Aesthetic Research.
