What we really do – education
Plastic surgeon’s ability to be “plastic” in their thoughts has taken us to the top of medicine, from skin grafts to VCA. Plastic and reconstructive surgery has grown tremendously due to our ability to deploy and elaborate new technologies quickly and successfully. However, some in our profession are terrified as reality around us is changing fast. I am thrilled with competency-based education, generations Y and Z as plastic surgery residents, social media, AI … These are doors partly open. It´s our choice, do we open the door or stay in in a dark corner behind the door. Because someone is going to do it – and I think it should be us.
